Haus der Photographie / Deichtorhallen Hamburg
The Deichtorhallen Hamburg is one of the largest exhibition center for contemporary art and photography in Europe. Two buildings house the Hall for Contemporary Art and the House of Photography, which was originally established for the F.C. Gundlach Collection. The Falckenberg Collection in Hamburg-Harburg has also been operated by the Deichtorhallen Hamburg since 2011.
With the F.C. Gundlach Collection, the House of Photography has the privilege of being home to one of the most highly acclaimed collections of fashion and art photography anywhere in the world, on long-term loan. In addition to collection presentations, the House of Photography also presents temporary exhibitions of significant historical artworks from the 19th and 20th centuries as well as young contemporary photography. The oeuvres of major photographers are regularly reappraised and exhibited in largescale retrospectives at the House of Photography and then sent on tour.
