Video of Karla Hiraldo Voleau

Right at the beginning of this years recommended Olympus Fellowship, fellow Karla Hiraldo Voleau travelled to Japan to meet with young people of her age, asking them about contemporary love and dating, how cultural traditions still restrict them while Japan deconstructs gender roles year by year and how that again affects modern relationships.

Karla Hiraldo Voleau is being coached by Kim Knoppers, curator at the Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam.

Video of Tobias Kruse

For his photographic project Tobias Kruse reflects his unsafe childhood and youth in East-Germany in the 90ies, that was dominated by violence, anger and hatred. He confronts himself with his memories and investigates parallelisms in the social atmosphere between past and present.

Tobias Kruse is being coached by Ingo Taubhorn, curator at the House of Photography / Deichtorhallen Hamburg.
